About this scholarship
Full-time dependents of certified Texas peace officers or detention officers (at the time of application or at the time of the parent's death) who are enrolled or accepted for full-time study (at least 12 credit hours) at an accredited Texas junior college, community college, or four-year university may apply.
Awards are $1,000 each. Recipient count depends on program funding and donations.
Applicants submit an essay of at least 300 words on their connection to law enforcement, a resume of school and community activities (up to two pages), a teacher or mentor recommendation, a headshot, and the complete application form.
The Peace Officers Memorial Foundation funds higher education for Texas peace officers' dependents.
