About this scholarship
UBC Vancouver graduate students beyond their first year whose research focuses on oceanography may be considered. Candidates are evaluated on academic and research excellence, originality, dedication through service and leadership, and willingness to work across disciplinary boundaries.
The award amount varies. It is endowed in memory of Dr. Paul J. Harrison, who helped build an internationally recognized program in biological oceanography at UBC after joining in 1975. Awards are made on the recommendation of the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences in consultation with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. There is no separate student application.
