Otto and Marie Pick Award in Education

Open to Bachelor of Education students at UBC Vancouver who have achieved good academic standing and demonstrated community service, volunteerism, and/or leadership skills. Financial need may be considered.

Awards totalling $10,000 are made available annually through a gift from the Remembering Otto and Marie Pick Charitable Foundation. The amount per recipient varies.

Recipients are selected on the recommendation of the Faculty of Education. There is no separate application.

Otto and Marie Pick immigrated to Canada from Czechoslovakia in 1938 and later built a thriving seed company in Ontario. The award honors their perseverance and encourages students pursuing a teaching career.
