About this scholarship
Open to a current resident or high school graduate of Ontario Medical Association District 4 (communities across the Hamilton, Niagara, Halton, and surrounding area) who intends to practice in a District 4 community.
One bursary of $2,000 is available.
Applicants should include a brief description of their practice plans in a cover letter.

What else to submit
- 500-word cover letter describing the applicant's plan to practise in a District 4 community
- Must be a current resident or high school graduate of District 4 (specified southwestern Ontario municipalities including Hamilton, Burlington, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, etc.)
- Must demonstrate intention to practice medicine in a community within District 4
- Administered by the Ontario Medical Foundation (OMF); medical students apply through the OMF for named bursaries
- Application for 2026-27 named bursaries opens December 1
- The first eligibility path represents current residence in District 4; the alternative path is graduation from a District 4 high school.
- Apply through the Ontario Medical Foundation for named bursaries.
