About this scholarship

Current Ohio residents who are children, spouses, or qualified former spouses of peace officers, firefighters, or certain safety officers killed in the line of duty anywhere in the U.S., or children or spouses of U.S. armed services members killed in designated combat operations, may receive undergraduate tuition assistance while pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree or certificate program.

Benefits cover 100% of instructional and student fees at Ohio public institutions. Private degree programs receive up to $10,672 per year and certificate programs up to $8,000 per year.

Apply through your institution's financial aid office with documentation of the line-of-duty death. The institution coordinates with the Ohio Department of Higher Education to process benefits.
