About this scholarship
High school students in Georgia may apply for the NWAG Georgia Scholarship, sponsored by the Georgia Plastic Foundation through the Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG).
Five one-time $1,000 scholarships are awarded. Applicants must complete the full application, provide a copy of their current high school ID, write a brief statement of need, and submit a typed, double-spaced essay on the provided topic (renewable energy and economic growth in Nigeria).
Also required are two recommendation letters from a teacher, counselor, religious leader, or community leader, plus one additional recommendation from a school dean or department head.
NWAG also supports orphanages and scholarship programs in Nigeria.

- Two letters of recommendation from any two of: Church/Pastor/Mosque/Imam, Teacher or Counselor, Community Leader
- University Admission Acceptance Letter
- Photocopy of current student identification card
- Completed application form (downloaded from nwag.org)
- Submit to education@nwag.org by the annual deadline (April 30 for the 2025 cycle); electronic submissions must be in PDF format
- Open to Georgia high school student graduates; applicant testifies they are a high school student
- Essay topic concerns renewable energy and economic growth in Nigeria.
