About this scholarship
For Alberta residents (12 consecutive months before program start) who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons and have applied to or enrolled in a designated full-time nurse practitioner program. Recipients must plan to live and work in northern Alberta and sign a return-of-service agreement. Applicants must not be in default of a provincial student loan.
This is a non-repayable return-of-service bursary of $10,500 per year (or up to $21,000 per year through the Bursary Partnership Program) for up to three years. Return of service is one year of full-time nurse practitioner employment for each year of bursary support. You may receive only one of the Northern Alberta Development Bursary, First Nations, Métis and Inuit Bursary, or Bursary Partnership Program awards per academic year.
Apply online between January 2 and May 15 with unofficial transcripts (resume optional) and essay responses via a verified Alberta.ca Account.
