About this scholarship
Indigenous undergraduate researchers at the University of Toronto who self-identify as Indigenous at application, are Canadian citizens or permanent residents, hold at least a B- cumulative average, and are supervised by eligible U of T faculty with an active tri-agency grant may compete for NSERC USRAs. There is no department allocation cap, and department ranking is not required for this stream.
Each award is $6,000 plus a minimum $1,500 top-up ($7,500 total stipend) for a 14-16 week summer term. Submit through the potential supervisor's department for internal review (not directly to OVPRI), including the UTEA/USRA application form, unofficial ACORN transcript, and USRA eligibility confirmation; the UTM department internal deadline is March 3, 2026.
