About this scholarship
Alberta residents who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons may apply if entering the last or second-to-last year of a full-time designated post-secondary program, or a program of one or two years. Applicants must have lived in Alberta for 12 consecutive months before the program starts, be 18 or older, not be in an apprenticeship program, and not be in default of a provincial student loan.
The bursary provides up to $7,000 per year for a maximum of two years. Recipients sign a return-of-service agreement to work full-time in northern Alberta for one year for each year of support. Students must reapply for each year of funding and can receive only one northern bursary type per academic year.
