About this scholarship
Male high school seniors attending a high school in Cook County, Illinois who plan to enroll full time at an accredited four-year college or university immediately after graduation may apply.
Up to 55 recipients receive $7,000 awards renewable up to four years based on satisfactory academic performance at a four-year accredited institution.
Apply through the Scholarship America Student Hub (linked from the program page). The annual spring cycle typically closes in late March; 2026 deadline was March 31. Recipients are notified in June with payments in early August.
The William J. Cook Scholarship Fund at The Chicago Community Trust is administered by Scholarship America; Trust officers do not participate in recipient selection.
