About this scholarship
Second- or third-year law students enrolled at a New York State law school who demonstrate interest in elder law and special needs practice and intend to practice in upstate New York may apply. The scholarship honors T. David Stapleton through the NYSBA Elder Law and Special Needs Section and The New York Bar Foundation.
One scholarship of $2,500 is awarded annually to support a student committed to serving elderly and disabled clients in upstate New York after graduation.
Applications are submitted through The New York Bar Foundation online scholarship portal when the cycle opens; NYSBA lists the award among active law student scholarships with annual spring deadlines.
The New York Bar Foundation administers section-funded scholarships for New York law students pursuing public service careers.
