SPIE Optics and Photonics Education Scholarships

SPIE Student Members worldwide in high school, community or technical college, undergraduate, or graduate programs related to optics and photonics may apply through one application for multiple named awards. US and international students are eligible; some named awards such as Women in Optics require US citizenship for study in the United States.

Awards range from $3,000 to $11,000 for tuition, fees, and course-related expenses. SPIE awarded $351,000 to 85 students for 2026.

Applications close February 15 each year at 5:00 p.m. Pacific. Two non-family recommendations, unofficial transcripts, and a CV or resume are required before submission.
