SHRM Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships

Undergraduate students in HR-related degree programs at regionally accredited U.S. or international institutions may apply. Applicants must be current SHRM members (professional or student), hold at least a 3.0 GPA, and have at least one full semester remaining before graduation. Individual named funds may add criteria; full-time, part-time, online, and distance programs qualify.

General undergraduate scholarships pay $2,500; HR Exploration awards pay $1,200 plus one year of SHRM student membership. Checks go directly to the educational institution for tuition, fees, books, and supplies. Each award is one-time but past recipients may reapply.

Apply through the SHRM Foundation online application (resume, transcripts, short answers, one reference letter requested via the system). The 2026-27 cycle opens January 12 and is due March 13, 2026.

SHRM Foundation distributes more than $400,000 in HR scholarships annually to students worldwide.
