RSNA Medical Student Research Grant

Full-time medical students at accredited North American medical schools may apply for summer medical imaging research grants. Projects must run at least 10 weeks in a radiology, radiation oncology, or nuclear medicine department; the research site need not be the student's home institution.

Recipients receive $3,000 from RSNA, typically matched by the sponsoring department for $6,000 total used as a student stipend. Additional grants may be awarded to students underrepresented in medicine.

Applicants must be RSNA members (or have a dues-paying advisor). The 2026-27 cycle was closed in July 2026; the next cycle opens October 2026.

The RSNA Research and Education Foundation supports early exposure to academic radiology through this recurring grant.
