About this scholarship

Medical students, pathology residents with at least one year completed, or board-certified pathologists may propose projects aligned with the CAP President's annual focus area. Up to two scholarships of $500 to $1,500 are awarded each year.

The 2026 focus is Future Leaders: programming that introduces K-12 learners to pathology through hands-on STEM experiences and mentorship. Projects must be completed within 12 months of notification.

Applications are due August 19, 2026. Required materials include a project description, letter of support, timeline, budget, headshot, CV, and W-9.

The CAP Foundation Presidential Pathology Scholarship honors each sitting CAP President's commitment to developing tomorrow's pathology leaders.
