Patty & Melvin Alperin First Generation Scholarship

Rhode Island high school seniors whose parents did not graduate from college, including community college or foreign institutions, can be matched to this need-based first-generation award through the RI Foundation universal application. Recipients receive $1,000 to $1,500 renewable awards; past recipients may reapply. Applicants must be accepted or enrolled at an accredited two- or four-year college and demonstrate financial need. The 2026-27 deadline was April 13, 2026 via the universal application.
