About this scholarship

Citizens or permanent residents of OAS member states, including the US and Canada, may apply for graduate study at universities in another OAS member country. Applicants need a bachelor's degree, strong GPA, and admission to begin studies between January and December 2026.

Scholarships are complementary, capped at USD $10,000 per academic year, and may cover tuition, health insurance, a subsistence allowance, airfare, and books in priority order. Awards run one to two academic years. Recipients must return to their home country for at least 24 months after completing the program.

US and Venezuelan citizens apply online directly to the OAS (deadline April 3, 2026). Other member-state citizens, including Canadians, apply through their National Liaison Office after online submission. Results publish in June 2026.

The OAS Department of Human Development, Education, and Employment administers academic scholarships to expand graduate access across the Americas.
