About this scholarship
One MSW candidate per year who addresses injustice in criminal justice, foster care, health care, education, or related systems and has mental health field experience may apply. NASW membership and CSWE-accredited MSW admission required.
A single $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually when endowment earnings permit.
Apply January through March; 2026 applications closed. Requires biographical essay, combined financial need statement, two professional references, official transcript, and release.
The endowment honors New Orleans social worker Neysa Fanwick, who advocated for vulnerable populations across multiple systems.
