About this scholarship
US citizens age 27 or younger with a bachelor's from a US institution (GPA 3.7+) may apply for one year of master's study at one of 15 partner French universities in STEM, humanities, social sciences, or arts. French proficiency is not required for English-taught tracks.
The fellowship covers one year of tuition at a partner institution, a €1,500 monthly living stipend (€17,250 total for 2026-27), round-trip airfare, visa and application fee waivers, health insurance, and participation in the French-American Leadership Program.
Apply simultaneously for Lafayette and admission to a partner university when the call opens each September; the deadline is November 30. The inaugural 2026 cohort is selected; the next application window opens September 4, 2026.
Villa Albertine launched the program in 2025 to mark 250 years of French-American friendship.
