About this scholarship
US citizens may apply for study, Polish language training, or research at Polish public universities through the Kosciuszko Foundation and NAWA. No Polish ancestry is required. Tracks include year-abroad language study at Jagiellonian University and studies or research grants at Polish HEIs.
Studies and research grants pay 1,800 PLN per month from NAWA and $750 per month from the Kosciuszko Foundation after arrival. Year-abroad awards include a tuition waiver plus the NAWA stipend. Airfare and tuition are not covered for research grants.
The Fall 2026-Spring 2027 cycle is closed; the next cycle opens in October 2026 with applications due 1 March 2027 and recommendations due 14 March 2027. A $50 non-refundable fee applies.
