About this scholarship

Active members of the Muslim community who are U.S. citizens, DACA recipients, or permanent U.S. residents may apply. Undergraduate juniors/seniors or graduate students (master's, PhD, or law) enrolled full time at accredited U.S. universities in ISF-supported majors (policy, law, media, film, journalism, etc.) with minimum 3.0 GPA qualify.

Awards range from $3,000 to $10,000. ISF awarded $221,000 across its 2024 cycle.

Applications accepted December through March; the 2026-27 cycle closed March 21, 2026. Finalists complete video interviews May-June; awards in July.

ISF, founded in 2009, funds American Muslim scholars in fields that shape public opinion and policy on Muslim communities.
