About this scholarship
Outstanding high school students planning to enter an accredited petroleum engineering undergraduate program may apply. Recipients are typically in the top 3% of class rank and standardized test scores.
The scholarship pays $5,000 per year for up to four years of university study, contingent on remaining in petroleum engineering and maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
Applications open November 15 and close April 15 each year. Winners are announced August 1. One online application also considers other eligible SPE scholarships.
The SPE Foundation honors Gustave E. Archie, pioneer of formation evaluation and creator of the Archie formula, through this merit-based undergraduate award.
