Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship

Students with domicile outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, and the UK may apply, including US and Canadian citizens. Eligible programmes are one-year taught master's, postgraduate diploma, or PhD courses at participating Irish higher education institutions.

Each award provides a €10,000 stipend for one year of full-time study plus a full fee waiver from the host institution. Applicants must hold a conditional or final admission offer when applying and may submit only one application per cycle.

Apply through the GOI-IES online portal with proof of admission and two references. The 2026 call deadline was 12 March 2026 at 5pm Irish time; outcomes are expected in early June.

Administered by the Higher Education Authority as Ireland's flagship international student scholarship programme.
