About this scholarship
Open to rising second- and third-year full-time students at ABA-accredited U.S. law schools whose backgrounds would add diversity to the civil defense bar. Evening students qualify if they have completed at least one-third of required credit hours. Students affiliated with the American Association for Justice are ineligible.
The DRI Foundation awards three scholarships annually: one at $10,000 and two at $5,000. Recipients and all applicants receive a complimentary year of DRI law student membership and are recognized at the DRI Annual Meeting.
Applications are due annually on June 30. The 2025 recipients were announced in November 2025; the 2026 cycle deadline was June 30, 2026.
The DRI Foundation, the philanthropic arm of DRI (Defense Research Institute), funds this program to increase diversity in civil defense practice.
