Eligibility
About this scholarship
Undergraduate petroleum engineering students enrolled at U.S. universities may apply. Two recipients are selected each year. Applicants must be SPE student members in good standing and not in their final undergraduate year planning to use funds for graduate study.
Each award is a one-time $4,000 payment to help complete undergraduate studies in petroleum engineering.
Applications open November 15 and close April 15. One SPE online application automatically considers applicants for all eligible SPE scholarships. Winners are announced August 1.
The SPE Foundation established this scholarship in 2019 to honor Donald G. Russell, former SPE president and reservoir engineering pioneer.
