About this scholarship

Delaware residents age 18 and older who have lived in the state at least one year and file Delaware taxes may apply in one of 20 artistic disciplines. Current degree or certificate students are ineligible. Artists choose Emerging ($5,000) or Established ($8,000) categories; a rotating Masters ($12,000) tier applies in select disciplines.

Emerging Professional fellowships award $5,000 for artists in the early stages of their careers who have not yet established reputations. Recipients must present work publicly during the fellowship year (January through December 2027).

FY2027 applications are due August 3, 2026 at 11:59 pm via smARTDE. Required materials include an anonymous artistic statement (350 words), professional resume, and discipline-specific work samples.

The Delaware Division of the Arts administers fellowships in partnership with Mid Atlantic Arts, which coordinates out-of-state peer jurors.
