About this scholarship
Master's and PhD students from US, Canadian, British, or Irish universities in biology, chemistry, computer science, physics, earth science, engineering, or related fields may apply for industry-linked research internships in Germany. RISE Germany alumni undergraduates and recent graduates may also qualify for certain placements.
For standard placements up to three months, enrolled master's students receive a €992 monthly DAAD scholarship plus a €500 net monthly host stipend, along with insurance and travel support. PhD students receive higher DAAD rates; longer or graduate placements may follow German minimum-wage rules instead.
Apply online through the RISE Professional portal during the annual October to November window, with additional matching rounds in January and late winter. Internships run in summer or fall for up to six months.
RISE Professional is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office through DAAD.
