CityArtist Grant

Generative individual artists and curators who are Seattle residents (or maintain a permanent studio/workspace in Seattle city limits) may apply for research, development, and presentation of creative work. Applicants must be at least 18 and cannot be enrolled in a degree program related to their artistic career.

Awards are a flat $8,000. Recipients must offer a public presentation within Seattle city limits during the contract period.

Disciplines alternate by year: odd years cover dance, music, and theater/playwriting; even years cover literary, media/film, and visual art. The 2027 cycle opened June 2, 2026 and closes July 14, 2026 at 5 PM Pacific.

Seattle Office of Arts & Culture runs the grant to sustain individual creative careers across the city.
