About this scholarship
Any enrolled U.S. high school student in grades 9-12 may register and compete. No entry fee. Participants write an English essay of up to 500 words at a local C.A.C.A. lodge on a Chinese/Asian American community topic announced at contest time.
Cash prizes: $1,500 first, $1,000 second, $700 third, plus ten merit awards of $100 each with certificates.
Registration runs January 25 through February 28; the 2026 contest was held March 14 at participating lodges. Winners announced by mid-June.
C.A.C.A., founded in 1895, sponsors this annual contest to promote literacy and reflection on Chinese American history and identity.
