About this scholarship
PhD students enrolled at a US university may apply for 4 to 9 months of dissertation research in France through separate STEM or Humanities and Social Sciences tracks. The fellowship strengthens French-American research collaboration and partners with Campus France for on-site support.
STEM fellows receive up to €1,850 per month depending on other funding, plus round-trip airfare and health insurance abroad. HSS fellows receive about €1,704 per month with similar travel and insurance support.
Apply online through the STEM or HSS application pages when the call opens each October; the deadline is January 25. The 2026-27 call is closed; the next cycle opens in fall 2026.
The program is run by the Embassy of France Office for Science and Technology (STEM) and Cultural Services (HSS).
