About this scholarship
Students pursuing CFP certification through CFP Board Registered Programs may apply to named scholarship funds administered by the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning. Eligibility varies by fund and may include diversity criteria, financial need, undergraduate or graduate status, certificate programs, or CFP exam support. Sponsors set criteria for programs such as the Diesslin Scholarship and related diversity and need-based awards.
Individual scholarships typically range from $2,000 to $5,000 toward education coursework, the CFP exam, or exam review. Since 2016 the Center has awarded more than 733 scholarships totaling over $2.63 million.
Apply through the Center's scholarship portal; each fund has its own requirements and deadline. Multiple annual application windows exist; the spring 2026 cycle was due March 25, 2026.
The CFP Board Center for Financial Planning administers donor-funded scholarships to build a more diverse, sustainable financial planning profession.
