BSA Undergraduate Student Research Award

Registered undergraduate student members of the Botanical Society of America may submit a research proposal for this award. Prior winners are ineligible. Recipients may later apply for BSA graduate research awards.

Up to six awards of $500 each support proposed botanical research. Winners are announced at the Botany conference and published in the Plant Science Bulletin.

Applications open in December and close March 15 through the BSA awards portal. Proposals include a 1,200–2,000 word narrative, budget, advisor letter, and a short diversity statement.

BSA uses this program to promote undergraduate research and highlight plant sciences as a career path.
