About this scholarship

Graduating high school seniors, enrolled undergraduates, re-entry students pursuing a first associate or bachelor's degree, and graduate students who currently reside in California may apply. Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and demonstrated academic promise and financial need are required.

Awards are up to $10,000 for study at a two- or four-year institution.

Apply through the single SVCF-managed scholarships application (same deadline as all SVCF-managed funds). The 2026-27 cycle closed February 27, 2026.

Established in 2010, the Bright Futures Scholarship is SVCF's flagship managed fund for California students whose educational opportunities would expand with financial assistance.
