About this scholarship
Welding students enrolled or planning to enroll in post-secondary welding education within a local AWS Section's geographic boundaries may apply. Eligibility is determined by the online portal based on the applicant's academic profile and section residency.
Award amounts vary by section. For example, the Columbus Section offers a $12,500 pool for 2026-27 within 22 Ohio counties, alongside District 7 and national stacks totaling $730,000 regionally.
All section scholarships share the AWS Scholarship Online Portal at scholarship.aws.org with a March 1 deadline. Register, complete an academic profile, and select eligible section-named awards presented by the system.
Local AWS Sections administer these awards through section scholarship committees, distinct from district and national pools on the same application portal.
