About this scholarship
Full-time undergraduate students with limited prior physiology lab experience may apply for an 8–10 week summer research fellowship in the laboratory of an APS member. There are no citizenship requirements; international undergraduates may apply.
Fellows receive a $4,000 stipend, up to $1,300 in domestic travel to the American Physiology Summit, and one year of complimentary APS membership. The host lab may receive up to $300 for supplies.
Applicants must secure an APS member research host, hold a GPA above 3.0, have fewer than nine months of physiology research experience, and commit full time without summer classes or other employment. Applications are due February 2 annually.
APS offers up to 12 SURF awards each year through its trainee honors program to build the physiology research pipeline.
