About this scholarship
ANS student members enrolled in nuclear science or nuclear engineering at an accredited U.S. university may apply. International students from established ANS student sections are also eligible for sophomore, junior, and senior awards.
Undergraduate scholarships are typically $2,000 to $2,500. The 2026-27 cycle awarded 101 scholarships totaling $231,500 across the full ANS program, with up to about a dozen dedicated undergraduate general awards.
Applications open November 1 and close February 1. Evaluation considers academics, ANS leadership, references, career goals, and financial need. Awards are dispersed after August 20.
ANS has distributed more than $7 million in scholarships since 1979 to support the next generation of nuclear professionals.
