About this scholarship
Foreign nationals from more than 170 countries, including the United States and Canada, may apply after securing admission to a participating Mexican higher education institution. Ninety Mexican HEIs participate in the 2026 call covering undergraduate through doctoral and research stays.
Awards cover tuition, a monthly maintenance stipend, medical insurance, and related benefits per the official convocatoria. Research stays run from August through early November for the award year.
Register and apply through the SIGCA portal during the annual call window. The 2026 convocatoria ran 21 May to 22 June 2026 and requires a university acceptance letter issued within 60 days of application.
Funded by Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs through AMEXCID to internationalize Mexican higher education.
