About this scholarship
Undergraduate students of Asian and/or Pacific Islander descent pursuing sports journalism as a career may apply. AAJA judges on academic and journalistic achievement, financial need, commitment to a sports journalism career, and dedication to AAJA's mission.
One $2,500 cash scholarship is awarded annually through the AAJA Sports Task Force. The 2026 recipient was announced in March 2026.
Apply through AAJA's annual online scholarship application; the 2026 cycle closed January 21, 2026 with a similar January window expected for 2027.
Part of AAJA Sports Task Force funding alongside ESPN/CBS Sports internships and convention travel grants.
