AAOS Pride Ortho Scholar Award

LGBTQIA+ and ally medical students may apply for scholarships to attend the AAOS and Pride Ortho annual meetings. Applicants must be Pride Ortho members by the application deadline.

Scholarships provide at minimum $1,000 per student to reduce the cost of attending meetings in New Orleans, including Pride Ortho mentoring, group programming, and AAOS medical student events. Funding comes in part from an AAOS IDEA grant.

Applications are due December 7 each cycle. Awardees are notified by early January and submit written feedback after the meetings.

Pride Ortho, a nonprofit supporting LGBTQIA+ orthopaedic professionals, runs this recurring award to diversify the orthopaedic pipeline.
