About this scholarship
Degree candidates pursuing careers in legal information may apply for AALL degree-candidate scholarships. Eligible paths include library school students targeting law librarianship, dual law/library degrees, law graduates entering library school, library graduates entering law school, and library graduates pursuing related non-law advanced degrees. Preference goes to AALL members and applicants with law library experience, but membership is not required.
The AALL Scholarship and LexisNexis John R. Johnson Memorial Scholarship are funded annually; award amounts vary by available donations and applicant category.
Download and submit the degree-candidate application with evidence of financial need by April 1 each year (April 1, 2026 for the current cycle).
