OMSBF Named Bursaries

Ontario medical students at McMaster, NOSM, Queen's, Schulich/Western, Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan, or Ottawa may apply for one or more of 24+ named bursaries with geographic, specialty, or demographic criteria. OMA student membership with a valid OMA number is required.

Award amounts vary by named bursary; funds support financially challenged Ontario medical students.

Single online application opens December 1 and closes January 31 each year (2026-27 cycle opens December 1, 2026). Requires 500-word cover letter, proof of enrolment, and bursary-specific essays or forms where applicable.

Administered by the Ontario Medical Foundation (OMSBF) with support from regional medical societies and donors.
