About this scholarship

Open to Canadian Indigenous students enrolled full time in JD studies at the University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, or Thompson Rivers University law schools. Selection considers academic standing, social contributions, intention to practice in BC, and financial need.

The scholarship may be awarded as one $20,000 award or split equally between two students at $10,000 each, at the committee's discretion. The program aims to increase Indigenous representation in BC's legal profession.

Applications are due annually by April 30. Submit a letter with transcripts, proof of enrollment, two law school references, and proof of Indigenous ancestry to the Law Society Credentials Committee in Vancouver.

The Law Society of British Columbia administers this scholarship as part of its awards program supporting diversity in the provincial legal profession.
