About this scholarship
Ontario teacher candidates in consecutive or concurrent programs who will graduate in 2027 may apply for the Joseph W. Atkinson Scholarship for Excellence in Teacher Education. The committee weighs outstanding undergraduate achievement (A-, A, or A+ GPA), leadership and community preparation, relevant work experience, and references.
One $1,500 award is made annually to a single recipient, paid directly by the College.
Apply through the OCT online scholarship portal by June 30 at 5 p.m. Candidates may apply for up to two OCT scholarships but receive only one award.
The scholarship is named for the College's second Registrar and honors academic excellence in teacher preparation.
