About this scholarship

Canadian secondary school students accepted into a full-time welding technician or welding engineering technology program at a Canadian post-secondary institution may apply. Recent graduates since January 1, 2020 are also eligible. Requires 80+ average in grades 11-12 and demonstrated welding passion and community involvement.

Successful applicants receive up to $3,000 toward continuing studies. Recipients must agree to public recognition and essay publication.

Online applications open March 2 and close June 12 annually. Submit high school transcript, two references, proof of post-secondary acceptance, and a 1,000-word weighted essay. AI-generated submissions are disqualified.

Established in 2013, the national award honors Joseph G. Doria's leadership as CWB Group Board Chairman and promotes welding careers in Canada.
