IIC Law Student Writing Awards

Full-time undergraduate law students at Canadian universities may submit an original paper on corporate insolvency or restructuring. Papers may be in English or French and jointly authored.

First, second, and third prizes are $7,500, $5,000, and $2,500. The first-place winner and faculty sponsor attend the IIC annual conference.

Entries are due in mid-June each year. The 2026 deadline was June 12, 2026, which had passed when checked in July 2026.

The Insolvency Institute of Canada has run this annual competition since 2014.
