About this scholarship

Canadian students entering their final year of a full-time minimum two-year post-secondary program in welding technician, welding engineering technology, welding engineering, or related engineering with a welding focus may apply. Minimum 85% program average required.

Successful applicants receive up to $3,000 toward continuing studies.

Applications open March 2 and close June 12 annually. Submit two personal references, faculty and character recommendation letters, official transcript, and a minimum 1,000-word essay on career goals and welding standards importance.

The Hugh A. Krentz Student Award honors a longtime CWB Group Board director and Standards Council of Canada chairman who advanced construction safety standards.
