About this scholarship
Professional practicing artists who are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants and Nova Scotia residents for at least 12 months may apply. The program supports artists with peer recognition, public presentation history, and appropriate training, including emerging practitioners with modest exhibition records.
The Create category provides up to $15,000 to develop or create new work independently or collaboratively with one other Nova Scotia artist. Living expenses up to $2,000 per month may be included.
Deadlines are May 15 and November 15 each year. The application form reopens about one month before each deadline; it was closed in July 2026 until October 15, 2026.
Arts Nova Scotia, the provincial arts funding body, supports professional artists across fine craft, music, literary, visual, media, and performing arts.
