About this scholarship
Black, Indigenous, and other racialized students in their final year of a Canadian undergraduate journalism program may apply. The bursary supports students who demonstrate strong engagement with BIPOC communities and commitment to high journalistic standards.
One $5,000 annual bursary is funded by Media Profile, a Toronto communications firm and long-time CJF partner. The 2026 recipient was announced in May 2026.
Submit work samples (written, video, audio, or other journalism) plus a statement of intent about post-graduation plans. Applications for 2026 closed; the entry form listed a January 23 deadline.
