CFMS-MD Financial Management Leadership Award

Open to CFMS member medical students at Canadian member schools who demonstrate outstanding leadership and contributions to student life at the local, provincial, or national level. One student from each of the 15 CFMS member schools receives the award, with non-member-school applicants competing in a separate 16th category. CFMS National Officers, committee leads, and task force chairs may apply if the work described is not CFMS-related.

Each winner receives a $2,000 cash prize and a certificate of recognition. Winners are celebrated at the Canadian Medical Students' Conference each spring. Partial travel funding to the awards ceremony may be available on a case-by-case basis.

Applications are accepted annually and close on January 15. The 2026 cycle closed January 15, 2026, with winners announced at CMSC 2026 in April.

The award is sponsored by MD Financial Management in partnership with the Canadian Federation of Medical Students, recognizing medical student leadership across Canada.
