About this scholarship
U.S. high school seniors or graduates with a 3.0 or higher GPA planning a STEAM-related undergraduate degree or technical credential at an accredited two- or four-year institution may apply. Up to three awards of $2,500 are available.
Applicants must participate in model railroading or related modeling programs, submit a 500-word essay on how modeling has impacted their education, provide photos of two completed models, and supply two references. Apply online or by mail through the New Tracks Modeling website.
The scholarship supports model railroaders and other modelers pursuing STEAM education.

- Active participation in model railroading or modeling programs (e.g. Youth in Model Railroading, Scouts MRR, 4H)
- Photos and descriptions of at least two models completed by the applicant
- Two references to affirm applicant's involvement in railroad or other modeling activities
- Online submission requires a Google Account for file uploads
